As a way to honor her late father, Jim Walsh, Barbara Martin made a generous donation to OLL's Laker Scholarship Fund, which supports school families in need particularly during this time of the pandemic. The $15,000 donation was made in memory of her father, who believed strongly in Catholic education. The gift will provide tuition assistance to those experiencing financial challenges due to job loss, reduction, or health situations resulting from the virus. "This memorial gift will ensure that Mr. Walsh's belief in Catholic education will carry forward in a new generation," said Daniel P. Mullen, principal at OLL. "All of us at OLL appreciate the generosity and meaning behind this gift. Thanks to the generosity of his daughter, Mr. Walsh's legacy will now encompass making a powerful impact on OLL students and families in the months and years to come."

Today, OLL received a $50,000 donation from the Knights of Columbus (Council No. 676) to support tuition assistance for students whose families are experiencing financial hardship, particularly due to the coronavirus pandemic. The donation was made in honor of all the OLL parishioners who have served within the Knights of Columbus. "The gift of Catholic education is one that lasts a lifetime," said Daniel P. Mullen, principal at OLL. "With this generous support from the Knights of Columbus, we will be able to say 'Yes' to more families facing the most difficult circumstances in their lives. We're tremendously grateful. It will be a lifeline of support for our Laker families now and in future years. "

Today, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School unveiled our new school logo, a visual representation of our One OLL initiative. This new logo brings together our two entities (parish and school) into one logo, varying only slightly from the parish, with the school retaining our “Green and Gold” heritage found in the circular frame.

The logo seeks to bring a clean, modern look that honors our namesake of incorporating Our Lady of the Lake, named by the Tacoma Dominican Sisters, and child - a reference alluding to Jesus and our school children - into our school logo design. Thank you to Sproutie Design for their talents and commitment to making this happen for our school community!

For more than three decades, Carrie Reeve helped to shape young lives at OLL, teaching English and math to her beloved students.

The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. Families need to complete an online health screening form for each child each morning before driving to campus. Please complete one form for each child. Parents will need to show the confirmation page or a print-out (if preferred) to the staff at drop-off. For carpoolers, parents must complete the form before allowing your child to be picked up by the carpool driver. Walkers (those arriving on foot) will need to show the screenshot of this confirmation page. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe.

Join us on Monday, December 7th from 7pm - 8pm. We will have a panel of Staff and Parents that will talk about what OLL has to offer you and your children as well as answer any questions.

PET BLESSING WITH FR. TIM CLARK: On Friday, Oct. 2 at 4pm, Fr. Tim will hold the annual Pet Blessing as a "drive-through blessing", re-imagined for the virus. This is a way to honor and celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. Parents/students are welcomed to bring their pet in their car, or a picture of their pet, or a stuffed animal that the student wants blessed. All will remain in the car (entering through the Lower Lot Playground area), but Fr. Tim will offer blessings to each.

This year's Laker Fun Run will provide much-needed funds to support PE games, books for our Spanish Program, School Family t-shirts, and vital operating support. Thank you to our Laker families and friends for your support throughout the OLL community!
