School Families
"School Families" are a time-honored tradition at Our Lady of the Lake that fosters a sense of community and family across the grades. Each 8th grade student acts as the head of a "School Family." Each family has students from every grade. Various activities are planned for the families throughout the school year including community awareness efforts such as the St. Vincent Food Drive and community thank you posters .We also celebrate school masses together sitting with family members and enjoy doing Lenten activities and school spirit days.
The largest school spirit activity is the Junior Olympics in May. This event includes a parade of flags and costumes from countries each class has studied, followed by field games with the “School Family”. This celebration is celebrated with many parent volunteers and returning alumni.
