Preschool and PreK
Preschoolers are embraced as the youngest members of the whole Our Lady of the Lake community. We foster a “Can Do” attitude to spark each child’s creativity and lay the foundation for a lifetime love of learning. Preschoolers engage in a play-based curriculum designed to educate the whole child: hearts, minds and spirits. We focus on the social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual development of each individual child. Our curriculum is designed to introduce early learning concepts including pre-writing skills, number awareness and language development in a fun and engaging manner.
In our Pre-kindergarten classes, we celebrate each child. We encourage active participation in all classroom activities and provide an atmosphere that fuels curiosity. We feel it is very important to foster enthusiasm in learning as well as instill a feeling of competence that "I can do it!" We continue to model and guide behavior, teaching students the skills they need to be successful Kindergartners.
Our Pre-Kindergarten space has been licensed as a Child Care facility through the Washington State Department of Child, Youth, and Families (DCYF) since April 2022. This designation ensures that our program meets the highest standards of child safety, health, and development.
