Announcing Our Next Principal

Hello OLL Families,

I am pleased to announce to the Our Lady of the Lake community that we have found our next great principal: Kate Orizotti. Kate will begin her position at OLL on July 1.

Fr. Tim charged our committee: “To bring about, and by our discernment together, a new and vital chapter in the history of this parish and school “Rooted and grounded in love.” (Ephesians 3:17).” As a committee we were pleased to interview and consider several candidates on behalf of this community. With your input through the survey and guidance from OLL faculty and staff we believe we have chosen the best person for this vital role at OLL.

Kate received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a Minor in Philosophy and Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Gonzaga University. She taught intermediate grades for 8 years at St. Cecilia and Holy Family, Kirkland, during which she earned a Master of Educational Administration with Principal certification from Seattle University. She worked as Vice Principal for two years at Holy Family before moving to her current role at O’Dea High School as Director of Educational Support.

Those who have worked with Kate describe her as a rising star in Catholic education. Her focus throughout her career has included helping diverse learners access curriculum and removing barriers to student success. She has a proven history of making data-driven decisions in a collaborative way. As a self-described life-long learner Kate participated in the GRACE Teacher Leader program through the Archdiocese of Seattle and aspires to attain her doctorate in education. As a committee, we believe she will bring her strong experience and growth-mindset to the benefit of OLL.

Please join us in welcoming Kate to the Laker community in the coming months!
