“Although we don't live in the neighborhood and aren’t Catholic, we love it at OLL – all our expectations have been exceeded!”

Speech Team

The Our Lady of the Lake Team is looking for all interested 6th, 7th and 8th graders to join the speech team. Being a member of the speech team provides students with a wonderful opportunity to build confidence and poise in making oral presentations in front of an audience, writing a persuasive or informative speech or vocally interpreting a dramatic or humorous narrative.  All these are skills that are used in middle-school, high school and beyond.

Students will make a commitment to come to small group practice sessions an average of at least once a week during speech team season.  In addition to these practices, students will be expected to work on their own finding or writing material to present, as well as, preparing and rehearsing on their own.  Tournaments are held on Saturdays and go all day.
