CYO sports unite children of a parish community in an atmosphere that promotes sportsmanship, skill development and recognizing one’s strengths and limitations. Team sports within CYO offer the lessons of winning and losing; however respect for all participants is of primary importance. CYO sports offers values that aid boys and girls in their development towards adulthood.
CYO is open to all parish and school families!!! This is a great opportunity to meet other families and to participate in your own parish as well as a Catholic community.
Registration and payment for Our Lady of the Lake Sports is facilitated through Sports Pilot. Registration notifications will be sent out through email announcing the open and closed registration periods for each sport.
|“(I) consider sports as an instrument of education when it fosters high human and spiritual needs; when it forms youth in an integral way in values such as loyalty, perseverance, friendship, solidarity and peace. Surmounting differences of cultures and ideologies, sports offers an ideal occasion for dialogue and understanding among peoples, for building the desired civilization of love. To put into practice these values, based on the dignity of the human person, in face of possible interests that might darken the nobility of sports itself.”
|Pope John Paul II (Sept. 16, 2002)|
