“OLL's challenging and hands-on science program more than prepared my daughter for the rigor of high school science.”

Teacher's Comments

Dear Parents,

Last week in math, we analyzed data using tally charts, tables, bar graphs, pictographs, and circle graphs. This week, we will identify and describe plane geometric figures (square, rectangle, triangle, trapezoid, hexagon, and circle) by their attributes.  We will also identify and describe geometric solid figures (cube, rectangular prism, sphere, cylinder, pyramid, and cone) by their attributes.

We will continue to work with the multiplication and division facts. We will have timed tests on 30 facts/1minute; checkpoints checking on the students' problem solving skills; AIMSweb computation practice test.  Please continue to keep up the help at home with the multiplication and division facts.

Our class will represent Japan in the parade of countries for Jr. Olympics next week.  We will be learning a little about the culture of that country.

As you know, we have been recording our observations of the butterfly larvae, chrysalises, and, now, the adult butterfly.  Be sure to ask you 3rd grader about these observations.  We plan to release the butterflies on Monday or Tuesday, when our Pre-K reading buddies are ready to release their buterflies.

Mrs. Marshall

Reminder:  Students need to wear the full school uniform every day.
