“OLL's challenging and hands-on science program more than prepared my daughter for the rigor of high school science.”

Teacher's Comments

Dear Parents,

In math, the 3rd graders have been partitioning a whole into equal parts and identifying and counting unit fractions using concrete models.  This week in our Eureka Math, we will "build non-unit fractions less than one whole from unit fractions" and then "identify and represent shaded and non-shaded parts of one whole as fractions".  Once again,  thank you for all the help you give your 3rd grader at home working on increasing fluency of the multiplication and division facts.

During Writer's Workshop, the students have been working on writing a biography of a Native American chief.  Each 3rd grader has chosen a chief and has been reading and taking notes about that person's life.  For resources, they have been using books from our classroom collection and the library.  They have been using the computers and iPads to look for more information.  After writing a rough draft from notes, the writers will use the computers to type his or her final copy.

Rain or shine, students need to wear their full uniform to school.  That includes OLL sweatshirts, OLL sweaters, OLL vests, or OLL fleece.
