Gym/Event Center Project Update

January 2012

Great news! Santa did not overlook our Christmas list, including our desire for a new parish/school multipurpose facility. Over the past several months, we have been engaged in a lengthy discussion with the city about our plan and I am pleased to announce that the City of Seattle has approved our request to continue with this project! Before the end of the school year, we will be applying for a construction permit and our hope is to break ground this Summer.

As you know, the key to the success of our project lies in successfully raising the funds needed. In the weeks and months ahead our school and parish leadership are going to be working to secure the remainder of funds we need to start construction.
Pledge Results To Date
  • To date we have raised
    $2.1M of our $2.7M goal
  • 57% of school families have currently submitted pledges
  • Average pledge is $4,400 over 4.3 years
  • Goal is 100% participation from school families

As you know, the key to the success of our project lies in successfully raising the funds needed. In the weeks and months ahead our school and parish leadership are going to be working to secure the remainder of funds we need to start construction.

To date, approximately half of our school and parish families have pledged $2.1 million in financial support to our Laker Legacy campaign. The total projected cost of our project is $2.7 million, and we will need to have half of that amount – $1.35 million – in cash to actually start construction.

To those families who have given, thank you for your commitment and generosity. And to those who have not yet given, I hope that you will consider contributing to support this important project that will have such a significant and lasting impact on the lives of our children, our families and our parish community. Every gift is important and appreciated and it is my hope that we can reach 100% participation as a school community.

I encourage you to read the rest of this newsletter for additional information and details on the project. If you have questions or are interested in supporting our project please contact me.

May God bless you throughout the New Year!
